Hermitage Club Sale Closes -- Haystack Now Has Another New Owner

The Haystack Mountain saga continues as the sale of the former Hermitage Club is closed and its assets now belong to Hermitage Members Club Inc.

"With 181 member families and counting, the members of HMC look forward to working with the local community to rebuild your trust from the actions of prior ownership," the group said in a news release. "As homeowners in the Deerfield Valley, the members are delighted to enjoy the natural beauty, services, and hospitality that the Valley has to offer. We thank the whole community for supporting our efforts as we seek to establish a thriving club in the Valley."

In a report from the Brattleboro Reformer, the Hermitage Members Club Inc. announced the closing of the sale of Hermitage Club assets this past week. Those assets include the ski mountain and related property, the golf course, and several inns in the area.

The new owners are currently working with Jon and Jim Schaefer of Berkshire East Mountain Resort on plans to reopen the mountain, possibly for the coming 2020/2021 season. However, the mountain will continue to be a private resort.
