Torch A Haul Rope, See What Happens -- VIDEO
In all of my years working in the ski industry, knowing lifties and lift ops team members, as well as the time before and since that I have spent riding lifts, I have never considered how a haul rope was taken off. Now, I can't say for sure if this is the manufacturer's suggested way to do so, but it certainly is something to watch! I present to you a video of a lift tech taking a blowtorch to the haul rope during the dismantling of the Biollèn lift at Valmorel Ski Resort in France.
