Pittsfield, Mass. Ski Hill Bousquet Ski Area Has Been Sold
According to a report from the Times Union, the hill was purchased by the Mill Town community impact fund from the Tamarack Ski Nominee Trust and owners Sherry and PJ Roberts.
The sale of the mountain, which was scheduled to close this past Friday, May 29th, included 155 acres spread across four parcels of land, including the summit of Yokun Ridge, 22 trails, and several buildings and pieces of equipment.
“We are excited to keep Bousquet as a vital recreational resource for the region,” said Tim Burke, Mill Town’s CEO and Managing Director. “A significant focus of our work is to invest in and improve businesses, real estate, and outdoor recreational assets in Pittsfield to make it a stronger city and an appealing place for families and employers. Bousquet met all of these criteria. We plan to invest in the ski operation infrastructure and the lodge, and we are excited to work with strong partners to enhance the on-mountain experience.”
The final purchase price was not disclosed, however, plans for a collaboration with Jon and Jim Schafer, owners of Berkshire East Resort and Catamount Ski Area, have been announced. This collaboration not only includes Bousquet joining on for a seasons pass that covers all three hills, but the Schafers will also consult on improvements, investments, and operational decisions.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The venerable Bousquet ski area, which was built on a former mink farm in the 1930s, has been sold to a local investment group and will be working with two nearby areas, Berkshire East and Catamount, in a season pass collaboration.
