The 2020 Boston & Denver Ski & Snowboard Festivals Have Been Canceled Due To COVID-19 Concerns
As one of the first events each year to mark the beginning of the ski and snowboard season, both the Boston and Denver Ski & Snowboard Festivals are something to look forward to. However, this year it's going to be a little different as both events have been canceled by Snowsports Industries America due to COVID-19 concerns.
"Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 virus, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Snowbound Festivals in both Boston and Denver for 2020. At Snowbound Festival, the health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, guests, friends, and staff is always our number one priority. In speaking with local and state authorities on the latest public health guidelines, we feel that canceling the events is the best and safest decision for this season." - Snowsports Industries America
"We are currently working on some exciting new ways to digitally connect with you as we get closer to winter so you can score some great deals, get a sneak-peak into new products, interact with your favorite brands and experience some of the amazing winter content we had planned for you – all from the comfort and safety of your home."
"We know that the news of the Snowbound Festivals being canceled this year is very disheartening, but we remain as excited as ever to come together as an online community to officially welcome winter and enjoy all of the incredible content, guests, products, experiences and fun that are the cornerstones of these events. Stay tuned for some big announcements about our online plans in the very near future." - Snowsports Industries America

Though being held under the new name of the Boston & Denver Snowbound Festivals, the name having been changed after Snowsports Industries America purchased the expos this past January, the events were going to look very much the same as they had in the past. They were going to be a gathering of just about any ski hill, equipment manufacturer, and industry media folks that one could name and about a ton of snow sports enthusiasts, as well as some presenters and vendors that almost feel a little out of place at a winter sports expo.
The events were going to be held in November, per usual, with the Denver event scheduled for November 6-8 and the Boston event scheduled for November 19-22. However, even with both of these events being canceled, don't count out the Snowbound Festivals just yet. It appears that there are online, digital versions in the works.

As with many of the happenings for the next season that we all look forward to, this is yet another casualty. However, it is important to not lose that excitement for the next season. Remember, how we deal with what is happening around us is equally as important as the happenings themselves.
