The National Park Says DON'T Sacrifice Your Friends If A Bear Attacks

Yes, the headline here does seem a little overdramatic, but there is still some truth in it. You see, the National Park Service put up a few tips on how to handle a bear encounter, but with a little bit of a humorous spin on it.

We've all heard the old saying, "You don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than your friend."

In the following post to the NPS Facebook page, they take that old saying and run with it. In this case, they tell you not to sacrifice the slowest friend in the group. Clearly bringing it up is just a bit, but there is also some good information in the post and a link to even more information for what to do and not do if one encounters a bear. It's good info not just for National Parks, but for anyone who is going to be anywhere that a bear might show up.
