$250,000 Reward Offered After Second Act Of Vandalism At The Sea To Sky Gondola, B.C.
After the second act of vandalism in just over a year, a $250,000 reward is being offered to anyone that has information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for cutting the cable at the Sea To Sky Gondola in British Columbia, Canada.
Once again, it was very lucky that no people were on board or in the area of the gondola when the haul line was cut. There have been no injuries reported due to the act of vandalism. However, this will once again cause the landmark to be shut down until all repairs are made, which is quite costly and time-consuming.
If there is anyone out there that has information that can be used as part of the investigation, they are encouraged by the Sea To Sky Gondola team and the Squamish RCMP to come forward. Anyone with information can provide it in one of the following ways:
- Directly to a police officer
- To the Police Gondola Information Line at 1-604-892-6122
- To the Police Gondola Email at GONDOLA.INFO@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
For those with information that would prefer to remain anonymous, please contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at www.solvecrime.ca.
Though this incident is very similar to the act of vandalism that took place on August 10, 2019, local investigators can not confirm that it was the same person or people committing the act this time. Both acts could be unrelated.
