At the same time that the east coast 2020/2021 season begins here in New England, the south is also getting in on the action. Yesterday it was announced that Cataloochee Ski Area in North Carolina would be open for skiing and riding bright and early on November 20th. TODAY!
Operations began at 9 A.M. this morning and will run to 4:30 P.M. local time. They are running five trails for opening morning, which include Rock Island Run, Lower Omigosh, Rabbit Hill, Easy Way, and Beginner's Luck. Please note, this is early season skiing and snowboarding, so plan accordingly and be sure to check the mountain's snow report before or on arrival.
Tickets, Rentals, and Lessons will be available for purchase at our OUTSIDE Ticket Windows ONLY. The lodge will only be open for use of the restrooms and bib/jacket rental. Food/beverage service and Gift Shop WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE THIS WEEKEND.
Season Pass holders will be able to pick up their temporary pass at OUTSIDE Ticket Window #6.
Face coverings will be REQUIRED at all times inside the buildings and outside when you cannot maintain 6 feet of social distance.
Also, like all ski mountains running this season, Cataloochee will be running limited services and have specific guidelines that need to be followed due to COVID-19. Please refer to the mountain's website, linked below, to familiarize yourself with those guidelines before heading to the mountain. This also includes following any local and state COVID-19 travel restrictions and guidelines.
