Killington, VT Pushes Back Opening Day Due To Weather

It has been kind of odd here in Vermont over the last week, weather-wise, that is. Though the state has seen some snow already, this past week has been nothing but blue skies and 70°, even in the mountains. It is because of this that Killington Resort has been forced to postpone opening day from this Saturday.

It could be said that Killington's staff was just as disappointed to announce having to postpone the season as fans of the hill were to hear it. Killington is commonly one of the first, if not the first to open in New England, including last season when the mountain was able to be the first on the East Coast.

Mount Snow in southern Vermont also was looking to open this Saturday, and though it has not been confirmed, it is likely that the mountain will also not be able to open due to similar weather. As of right now, most Vermont ski areas and resorts are looking to open around Thanksgiving or after.
