This Year's World Ski Awards Winners Announced


"World Ski Awards – the global initiative to recognize and reward excellence in ski tourism – has unveiled the winners of its 2020 program to coincide with its inaugural World Ski Awards Winners Day."

While there are those that maintain that the best can't always be determined due to the subjective nature of the world, there are those that try to pick out the best of the best. The World Ski Awards, now in its 8th year, has determined some of the best tourism destinations in the industry from around the world.

First, we'll take a look at those destinations that received top honors for being the best in the world at what they do, according to the World Ski Awards. These awards include the best resorts, best hotels, best travel agent, best indoor facility, and several other awards.

In the words of Sion Rapson, Managing Director of the World Ski Awards, “Our winners represent the very best of the global ski travel and tourism sector, and my congratulations to each of them. They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges.”

He then went on to say, “The World Ski Awards 2020 program received a record number of votes cast by the public. This shows that the appetite for booking a ski holiday has never been stronger and bodes well for the industry as the global recovery begins.”

While the awards do honor the best in the world as a whole, which most of the top honors went to European destinations, the awards also get country-specific. As Ski Rex Media is in the United States, which is part of North America, here are the winners here at home and for our neighbors to the north, Canda.
